RED Lab
The RED, and resulting workflows, is a revolution in filmmaking and Digital FX has tailored its studio to take full advantage of all the RED has to offer. The result is the FX RED LAB. The LAB is a series of workflows all originating from RED footage utilizing the very latest in editing and effects technology.

Our experienced and talented team are skilled in working with high quality uncompressed and compressed HD. Unlike many facilities, at Digital FX you don’t have to wonder what your project will look like online because our process enables you to see the entire image realtime throughout the project.
HD Online
Digital FX uses the latest technology, including Smoke 2K, Avid, & Final Cut, to produce your project in any format all the way up to 4K for the absolute highest quality product. Using our SANfx system (the region’s largest and fastest), your clips are linked to the original edited timelines creating a seamless workflow with offline editing.
Digital Intermediate
DI: Two letters which together, symbolize a level of precision, speed and control in post-production that goes way beyond cutting edge. Digital Intermediate (DI) describes a truly remarkable suite of tools, capable of real-time work flow, with unlimited flexibility for visual effects creation and color timing. Each customizable to meet the individual filmmaker’s unique production needs.
Combine this full-service, state-of-the-art DI studio with the largest inventory of digital cameras and equipment in Louisiana, plus creative talent with the chops to deliver, and you have more than an ultra-powerful set of production tools in your pocket — you’ve got Digital FX.
Audio Post Production
Digital FX is a full service audio production and post-production facility. We offer state-of-the-art talent and technology. Our staff has a real passion for audio, whether original music, audio editing, mixing or restoration. Our services include a voice booth, extensive sound and music library and the ability to compose custom scores.
And, with a Dolby Certified Looping and Mixing stage, Digital FX can accommodate sound for any project. And since your audio is connected to our SANfx system, you’ll be completely integrated into our DI workflow.
Color Grading
With HD, comes more exacting requirements for color grading than ever before. Which is why Digital FX offers multiple 2K and 4K color grading solutions including a Autodesk Lustre 2K Color Grading Suite.
Creative control – that’s what you get at Digital FX using our DI process. We can make a rose seem more red, pull details out of shadows, make clouds whiter and just about anything else you demand.
Video & Audio Duplication
Digital FX is a state-of-the-art video and audio duplication and fulfillment facility that offers a wide range of services including mass duplication of all video and audio formats, standards conversion, closed captioning, custom packaging and distribution, and storage.
Digital FX approaches each job with the same level of exceptional quality and service. The dedicated, experienced staff works around the clock to provide quick turnarounds and error-free product.
Digital Cinema Packages
Digital FX is Louisiana’s only complete DI and Digital Cinema facility. Located in the heart of Louisiana’s film industry, Digital FX provides professional DCP encoding and color space conversion, secure keys, encryption, storing, decoding, viewing, and packaging of content for theatrical and festival distribution.
We offer a complete, in-house, DCP process beginning with encoding, hard-drive duplication, reliable backups, distribution and support. In addition, our brand new DI theater allows for reliable quality control, calibration and color space conversions and screening for 2D and 3D playback in both RealD and Dolby. RED Rentals
Digital FX was one of the first companies in the world to own and operate a RED 4K Camera. But we don’t just own one camera, we own several RED 4K cameras and more lenses, monitors and accessories than any other studio in the Region. On top of that, we are the premiere source for RED post workflow and processing solutions with the most in-depth knowledge of the RED to make your production run smoothly.
Mobile Studio
Take nearly everything Digital FX offers, shrink it and put some wheels on it. That’s our mobile studio in a nutshell. Our on-location DIT system is well traveled and a proven asset to any digital production.
Studio & Gear Rentals
There is really only one reason Greg Milneck started Digital FX 25 years ago: he is addicted to the latest, coolest gear available. And, Digital FX is where he gets his fix. The list of gadgets, cameras, support equipment, computers, hard drives, monitors, software packages, lighting packages and any other gear you can think of is so long we’d have to build a completely separate website just to list it all.
But, two complete Red 4K camera packages, 35mm camera packages, a VFX Studio with 90’ Hard Cyc, a 1.5 GB/Sec SANfx System, a 1200 AMP generator van, a camera truck, grip truck and even a 2K theater should give you a taste of what we have to offer.
